This is a freehand pipe with egg shape, hand carved without any lathe.
When I cut my briarwood I´m thinking in the pipe I´ll like to carve. In this case, you can see briar skin in all the upper part and beautiful flames in the rest. Ergonomic form to fit well in your hand.
Coloured acrylic stem with a teflon cone, without filter.
I sign all pipes with my trade mark brand: a little circle piece of “antalis” (a genus of tusk shell) and Mediterranean red coral inside.
This pipe reminds me to:
THE SPOONBILL (Platalea leucorodia) a wading bird of the Ibis and spoonbill family Threskiornittidae.
The breeding bird is all white except of its dark legs, black bill with a yellow tip, and a yellow breast patch like a pelican. The genus name Platalea is from latin and means “broad”, referring to the distinctive shape of the bill, and leucorodia is from Ancient Greek leukerodios “spoonbill”, itself derived from leaks, “white” and rodios “heron”.
