The Black-winged Stilt Churchwarden

By Ramon Planas

From the author:

One of the earliest pipe shapes and still remains popular. This kind of pipes generally produces a cooler smoke due to the distance smoke must travel from the bowl to the mouthpiece.

This is a very old briar (about fifty years) from my friend Mr. Jean Pierre Soler workshop, rusticated all-around and smooth in the bottom. Very long colored acrylic mouthpiece.

Height:  45mm

Diameter: 32mm

Overal length:  255mm

Chamber diameter:  20mm

Chamber depth:  38mm

Weight:  52gr

This pipe reminds me a very long-legged wader bird The Black-winged stilt (himantopus himantopus).
