Small briar roots can be used as smoking pipes. This pipe was made starting from a small briar root, with between fifteen and twenty years of drying time, and following the main root I inserted a black acrylic mouthpiece, with a teflon tenon.
This is a “very natural shape”…perhaps like a potato?…
On top of the bowl you can see the wood fibers grow radiating from a central point to outer back. Beautiful birdeyes all-around with natural color, only carnauba-wax polished.
All my briars are from the forest hills surrounding the Mediterranean sea in Barcelona and are signed with my trade mark brand: a little circle piece of “antalis” ( a genus of tusk shell) and Mediterranean red coral inside.
